About Us 
Many of you may have known us through one incarnation or another, so naturally there is confusion. Here is the true story. In 1999 we bought Big Sky Manufacturing, a twenty year old company that specialized in custom horse apparel. We set about creating the best possible horse wear, but it was a tough business and our customers really wanted dog wear. Over several years hundreds of dogs were brought to us in Sheridan, Oregon to be measured for a custom coat. We applied our experience with horses to our dog friends to design the coats. And we used the measurements to create our original size charts. It ended up with more than 35 sizes which covered the whole canine crowd. The dog wear was popular, so we opened Beach Dog Supply on the coast in Pacific City to be available to more dogs and their people. We built a beautiful sewing shop in Grand Ronde under the direction of JoAnn Beeks. Two years later we opened Sellwood Dog Supply in Portland. We chose to close The Beach Dog Supply store in Pacific City to focus on making a much bigger, more wonderful store in Portland. But its name lives on as the name of our dogwear.
